Season are from May 1, 2009 to April 30, 2010

We concentrate our fishing in These marine areas

The 2009 Puget Sound salmon fishing package includes some changed fishing opportunities.

  • Area 9 and 10 summer selective king fishery expanded to 47 days
  • 4 fish limit on Humpies
  • expanded selective winter Blackmouth fishery

Marine Area 8-1 (Deception Pass, Hope Island, and Skagit Bay):

May 1-July 31: Closed to salmon angling.

Aug. 1-Sept. 30: four fish limit, release Chinook.

Oct 1 - Oct 31: closed 

Nov. 1-April 30: Two fish limit, Chinook 22-inch minimum size, release wild Chinook.

Marine Area 8-2 (Port Susan and Port Gardner):

May 1-July 31: Closed to salmon angling.

Aug. 1-Sept. 30: 4 fish limit, release Chinook.

Oct 1 - Oct 31: open southern area 8.2

Nov. 1-April 30: Two fish limit, Chinook 22-inch minimum size, release wild Chinook.

Tulalip Special Area Recreational Fishery:

Same as Area 8-2, except during the period June 5 through Sept. 7. Open 12:01 a.m. Friday - 11:59 a.m. Monday of each week. Open within Tulalip Special Area boundaries only. Closed east of the line from Mission Point to Hermosa Point. Two fish daily limit. Minimum size for Chinook is 22 inches.

Marine Area 9 (Admiralty Inlet):

May 1-July 15: Closed

July 16 Aug 31:    4 fish limit release wild Chinook, and Chum.

Sept 1 - Sept 30: 4 fish limit release Chinook and chum

Oct. 1-Oct. 31: Two fish daily limit, release Chinook.

Nov. 1-30: Two fish daily limit, release wild Chinook

Dec. 1-Jan. 15: Closed.

Jan 16- April 15: 2 fish limit release wild Chinook

Edmonds Pier: Open year-round with a two fish daily limit, only one of which one may be a Chinook. Minimum size for Chinook is 22 inches. Chum must be released Aug. 1-Sept. 30.

Marine Area 10 (Seattle-Bremerton):

SALMON - ENTIRE AREA

June 1-June 30 Catch-and-release. Open only north of a line from Point Monroe to Meadow Point.
Handling Rule in effect for all SALMON. Single-point barbless hooks required.

July 1-July 15: 4 fish limit, Release CHINOOK.
 

July 16-Aug.31 4 fish limit, Release wild CHINOOK. Handling Rule in effect for wild CHINOOK. Release CHUM beginning Aug. 1. Handling Rule in effect for CHUM beginning Aug. 1. Single-point barbless hooks required.

Sept 1 Sept. 30 No min. size. Daily limit 4, Release CHINOOK.
Handling Rule in effect for CHINOOK. Release CHUM through Sept. 15. Handling
Rule in effect for CHUM through Sept. 15. 

Oct 1-Jan. 31 CHINOOK - min. size 22". Other SALMON species - no min. size. Daily limit 2.
Release wild CHINOOK. Handling rule in effect for wild CHINOOK. Single-point
barbless hooks required.


Inner Elliott Bay Fishery
July 3 - 11:59 a.m. Aug. 24 Open Fridays through Mondays ONLY, CHINOOK - min. size 22". Other SALMON species - no min. size. Daily
limit 2, plus 2 pinks, release CHUM.
Aug. 1-Aug. 25: handling Rule in effect for CHUM. See Elliott Bay closure on previous page.
Sinclair Inlet Fishery
July 1-Sept. 30 CHINOOK - min. size 22". Other SALMON species - no min. size. Daily limit 2(combined), plus 2 additional PINK release wild chinook. Aug. 1-Sept. 15: release CHUM. Aug. 1-Sept. 15:
handling Rule in effect for CHUM.
Elliott Bay Fishing Pier at Terminal
86, Seacrest Pier, Waterman Pier,
Bremerton Boardwalk, Illahee
State Park Pier
Year-round CHINOOK - min. size 22". Other SALMON species - no min. size. Daily limit 2
(combined). Only 1 CHINOOK may be retained. July 1-Sept. 30: daily limit may
include 2 additional PINK. Aug. 1-Sept. 15: release CHUM
