On Saturday the wind was calm and we fished Saratoga passage from Langley towards East Point, we hooked and landed 5 legal size fish with 4 of them being hatchery fish ranging from 6lbs to 11lbs. Most fish were caught on 4 inch Yellowtail Coyote Spoons 40 inches behind a green glow Coyote Flasher. We were fishing 100 to 120 feet down and close to bottom. We fished again Monday 12/18/2006 with good success, same place, and same lures.

blackmouth success
Turkeys, Turkeys Everyone is thinking thanksgiving and turkey, but some people love salmon and now is the time to get one. The salmon are biting on Possession Bar and all you need is a little cooperation from the weather man, the proper tide, correct fishing gear, accurate technique, some eager fishers and a dash of luck thrown in for good measure. When this combination all comes together you get results like this with 6 keeper salmon, a large number of shakers and all in less than 1.5 hours fishing time.

Possession Bar yields 9+lb blackmouth Salmon
When the weather let us fish on Possession Bar there are plenty of blackmouth salmon to be had this is our 5th day this month that we can get out and fish due to the high winds. We have been able to catch limits of blackmouth for all persons on board each and every one of those days this month. the wether was marginal today with south wind to 20 miles early then it calmed down to 10 miles or less allowing us to finish the day with the fish on the bite and not to bad waves. best lures continue to be tomic plugs

John with one of 3 legal blackmouth for the day
Our first day of cold weather and the blackmouth love this. What a change from yesterday when it was rainy, windy and downright nasty out side. The sky was clear; you could see all the mountains in a 360 degree view, including Mount Rainer, The Cascades, Mount Baker and the Olympics, what a beautiful sight. Now this is what an office view should look like and there is nothing like sharing this with Clients. The Blackmouth salmon were biting as we landed 26 fish with 3 being legal keeper salmon and one legal size released with an adipose fin.
